They are active. They’re part of the Nuclear Triad. They are being replaced with the upgraded Sentinel missiles. According to Google Genesis AI, the US military regularly test launches to ensure the system remains reliable.

Look at Chernobyl it won’t be until the late 21st century before it’s even able to be safe.

I remember driving through rural Kansas in the ‘80’s and noticing the missile bunkers there as well.

Imagine the leakage going into ground water? The US has every chemical there is in their ground water without having radioactive materials as well 😢

NuclearElectricity was the most insane technology sold to society :

A. UNAFFORDABLE

- CANDU zirconium boiler tube replacements are always over budget

- every Nuclear construction worldwide is over budget/bankrupt.

- the Westinghouse Nuclear purchase threatens to bankrupt Toshiba. The Georgia plant just announced a further cost hike.

- why isn’t OPG buying the cheap electricity now being sold by Hydro Québec and Manitoba Hydro to American states and our industrial competitors.

- IESO just published a report that our electricity bills will Triple to replace FossilFuels under the current plan.

How long will Ontario companies take to find the cheaper hydro across the rivers in Buffalo and Detroit?

- Nuclear boiler tube refurbishment has been placed in the same Global Adjustment category as the Wind & Solar FIT contracts. How can we ever know the true cost of Nuclear or of Wind & Solar FIT?

If Niagara Falls needed to refurbish a turbine, it would be part of their maintenance budget. Why doesn’t Nuclear do that?!

- ….

B. UNINSURABLE

- Canada's PrimeMinister Harper forced OntarioPowerGeneration [OPG] to raise Liability limits from $100-M (1965) to $500-M (2012); this is the expected settlement of the Lac Mégantic railway fire. How much would it cost to move Southern Ontario?

- If the impossible happened to the Very careful Japanese at Fukushima, couldn’t something similar happen to OPG who accidentally built Pickering above an ancient earthquake fault line (found by Jacques Cousteau 1985).

C. UNDISPOSABLE

- after 75 years of Nuclear electricity, OPG still hasn’t found place & method to safely store ~50 years of spent fuel for 300,000 !!! years.

- nor have they found place & method to store the disassembled Pickering’s radioactive concrete, steel & boiler tubes, etc. for 10,000 !! years.

(To be fair, OPG has collected a fund for this disassembly & storage. This should have been done by governments for all mines & wells!)

- only Finland has solved disposal by building a future-proof site in deep granite Before constructing their French Areva nuclear generator.

D. UNREPLACEABLE

- Renewable Hydro, Solar & Wind with Storage are cheaper and better each year.

- new Small Modular Reactors [SMR] currently only exist in Nuclear-powered submarines.

- the first commercial SMR’s won’t be ready (proven!) until 2035-40.

- Ontario's OPG SMR is due to be installed in 2028. Really…?!

E. UNDEFENDABLE

- Zaporizhizhia Ukraine shows how easy it is to threaten a country with a Nuclear generating station of any size.
