There was no "good" option up for a vote in the Senate. A vote that would shut down the government would have allowed TronaldDump to immediately declare "martial law" ... scrap the Constitution and declare his dictatorship for life. A vote for passage of a disgusting budgetary framework will give us time to hopefully flip the damned House given the number of open seats!

I will no longer donate to the Democratic Party. The Republicans left town, which should have decided for the Dems at that time. Shame!

I tried 5 of the numbers on his website. Not a single one went through. I sent an email to the address on the website. He is avoiding contact.

Attack education, keep voters dumb; cut rural internet, cut them off from the world, leave vague, nebulous amounts, Elon palms get greased with Spacex related budget……

The very last line item you cited in the CR about D.C. losing 1.1 billion is worth a clarification, I think: That money is literally SITTING IN DC’s CHECKING ACCOUNT ALREADY. Passing the CR would just make it so nobody could technically “spend it” as planned. It’s been in the last 9 CR’s and bills as a zero increase carry-forward.

The most infuriating thing to think about is that when DC leaders went to the House, they were BLOWN OFF and told “oh it’s probably a clerical error, we’ll fix it.” - THEY DID NOT. And now, even IF the Senate reinstated the line item (by removing/altering the wording) THE TAXPAYERS WOULD HAVE TO FUND A RETURN TRIP OF ALL HOUSE MEMBERS (435 flights) to vote AGAIN on it TODAY. It just won’t happen. ARRRRGHHHH.

For sure. So this is the article that I used for this tidbit (sorry to have left out the citation): https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/11/politics/government-funding-bill-spending/index.html

But this is more specific: https://apnews.com/article/trump-congress-dc-budget-cuts-muriel-bowser-fb33057ab9ef4ef50f5234607f2bda9c
