Wow! You put all that together quickly. I can’t imagine how many hours you must have invested in doing this. Thank you once again. Get some rest now.

Once I had done the pieces, pulling it together felt like the best option at the end. I hope it’s useful, and I hope it’s not too late! Thanks again for hanging out, readers make my world go round ;)

It’s absolutely useful and no, given that it still has to get through the House, it’s not too late yet if people will just get reading. I’m already sharing it so we’ll see. It’s a lot to digest.

These funds are excessive to maintain border issues. Someone stands to profit bigly from these funds and our taxpayer money, and it does nothing to change issues at borders, but merely puts more dollars in private hands!

I especially appreciate the relief photos tucked in. Your succinct interpretations made the whole thing mean something to the average reader. And the dedication to working through it! Amazing. It takes months or even years to write such a bill but you rewrote it in what? A week!? ❤️🏆

You know, as I went through I realized it isn't something you read. It's something you have to line up other bills beside, other acts, summaries, amendments, and just sort of look at everything side by side to figure out what's being said and what's changing. If you just sit and read it, it doesn't make sense, and really says nothing at all except a lot of numbers and dates.

To reference title and subject with a synopsis allows all that reference. The guide is everything! I can’t imagine having a discussion with someone on any part of this bill even to formulate a question without having the reference to what would particularly concern a person. This will definitely enhance public interaction and transparency. You have done a great service to the public.

Thank you so much. I kept feeling like it wasn't enough and there must be some other step, but for now I'll let it sit for a bit.

Brevity is the challenge for such work. I’m a detail person so I easily go off on a tangent and want to include all the information available. To be able to sift it and determine the essence is an art. I applaud your decisions. The point was to stimulate conversation and questions and it will encourage seeking experts in the various applications. I could see a whole podcast series based on your treatise where each stream could call on appropriate subject experts.

The IRS changes benefit the wealthy

They definitely do. I broke it down a couple days ago, and the highest tax bracket will be saving thousands, millions, and even billions (depending on income), while the lowest will save nothing.

I appreciate the massive undertaking this was, but I find this VERY difficult to understand.

I am no idiot, but maybe it is just me, or maybe the wording in all this legislation is intentionally confusing? 🤷‍♀️ I had to stop reading it, but what I got through and understood is of course, as expected…a nightmare.

Do you mean the original bill’s wording or the summaries? The bill is meant to make no sense, to us or Congress

Expand full comment
Sharon M's avatar

Well, yes of course the original bill, but because of that, that perhaps in an effort to be concise or selecting excerpts that it also made the breakdown a bit more difficult to understand?

Not really sure, but I was having more difficulty than I am used to with this sort of thing. However, my brain does work its best with details, so maybe this approach was just not for me.

I appreciate all your hard work and what I have read if you writing in general.

May we all come out the other side of this with giant NO. 💜

Not sure if this is a duplicate but just in case it didn't post.

Nothing beautiful about this Bill, again far to confusing and way to easy to hide an agenda or just vote one or two and we get everything like it or not. The more complicated the more room for error and that has a trickle down affect. Praying for us all! Thank you for all the work to brake it down. To many to comment on but I didnt read a positive one. Thanks again!

100% accurate, it's a hideous bill. I hate calling it "beautiful" but do so only so people can search for this document. It was my pleasure to do the work, I think it's the only way I'd understand the whole thing.

that's a heck of a lot of funds basically going into securing borders while Americans will go hungry, be without proper Healthcare and be without a roof over their heads. unnecessary deaths are on your hands maga. you've brought many consequences upon yourselves from the one who is much more powerful than you. you'll see.

It’s so horrible the hoops that poor, elderly and the disabled have to go through to get assistance. The work requirements are 65. What is the income requirement these days for one person to be on SNAP?
